This cover was concocted in the fall of 2010 in anticipation of an epic Neil Young (neilyoung.com) tribute being organized at The Parish (theparishaustin.com) in Austin, TX by The Midgetmen (themidgetmen.com), Austin's slop-punk mavens. We were so pleased with it we decided to formally record it.
Like most of our stuff, it was recorded at home with drums specifically by (our) Chris Page. We were fortunate enough to have the mixing done by Steven Christensen of Sugar Hill studios in Houston, TX (sugarhillstudios.com/bio_steve.html) who won a grammy a coupla years ago for a Steve Earle record (musicislife.grammy.com/node/30711) and has worked with folks like Beyoncé and Cash Money artists. Mastering was done by the prolific Joe LaPorta at The Lodge in Manhattan (thelodge.com) who has worked with a multitude of amazing artists such as Foo Fighters, Björk, The Killers, Beach House, The Shins, The Raveonettes, The National, Chromeo, Neon Indian, The Walkmen...and a bazillion more, check out his discography: thelodge.com/mastering/pdfs/JL_Discog_2010.pdf
